ABOUT THIS TOUR

If you are looking for things to do in Split, Croatia and have a little time for some Split sightseeing or you simply fancy a Split excursion for a few hours why not join us on our small group Split cycling tour.

Our bike tour is a great way to see a lot of Split in a limited time. We run our Split cycle tour twice daily: in the cool of the morning at 08h00 or in the early evening at 17h00.

All our bikes are of excellent quality, are in good working order and are regularly serviced.

The Split cycle tour starts at the iconic statue of Grgur Ninski in Strossmayer Park see our blog: Grgur Ninski. We start our cycle tour gently, cycling to Split’s Green market and its famous vegetable market, where you can gather sustenance for the journey ahead.

Through the silver gate of Diocletian’s Palace, the bike tour heads out to the Split Riva, our tour guide notes many of the landmarks along the way and provides much needed cultural and historical context, all the while, enjoying the sea breeze.

Then our tour heads for the Split west coast – see our blog: Some west coast chic. We visit the Sustipan hill where many of Split’s inhabitants of the 18th and 19th century are buried. There’s a brief stop at Split’s Mestrovic gallery (Croatia’s most famous sculptor and the creator of the Grgur Ninski statue), passing by Obojena beach and Kasjuni beach.

We stop so you can view the hermitage caves on Marjan Hill, built into the cliffs on the southern side of the hill just behind St. Jerome Church in the 15th century.

We bike tour around Split’s iconic Marjan hill and enjoy the wonderful far off views of Kastela and Trogir – you somehow take in the entire Adriatic.

We turn into the vibe Split district of Veli Varos before finishing our Split tour back at the statue we started out.

Oh, we nearly forgot … you’ll enjoy a great cup of coffee at Bene beach on route – a beautifully quiet beach looking straight out across the magnificent Adriatic.

The Gecko Cycle Split tour is not strenuous and you certainly don’t need to be Bradley Wiggins to enjoy our bike tour.

However, if you want to go it alone we also provide a rent a bike Split service so please enquire – Bike rental.
