Be lucky and get one of 145 seats on a catamaran that goes from Resnik bay, near Split airport, to Split’s harbour.
This will be first year that a catamaran service will operate from Split Airport to Split City harbour. This will undoubtedly be very popular – arriving tourists will be able to avoid the crowds and disembark near the centre of Split – in just 15 minutes you’ll arrive right in front of Diocletian’s palace. Additionally, what a beautiful way for your first contact with Diocletian’s city. This project has been developed with the purpose of reducing traffic on the busy roads leading into Split, especially in the height of the tourist season…
There is no official announcement of how much the ticket price per person will be, but the local tourist board is estimating that the price will be around 15 Eur each way with children up to 7 years going free of charge. Also, the local tourist board informs us that there will be 10 services per day, departing approx. every 90 minutes with the last departure being at 9.30 pm – the service to operate from 31st of May. We are unsure of precisely when the first catamaran of the day leaves.
This new service is certainly a positive step for Split tourism. However, if you are arriving or departing Split early or late it seems the catamaran service may not be your answer. For those simply wanting to be picked up at arrivals and taken to your accommodation, then again, this service may not be for you but it should at least make the roads to Split a little clearer!
Important information: for those who are disabled or infirm, bear in mind that the port of Resnik is a 500m walk from the airport – taking an airport taxi for this short route will set you back 40 kuna (Euro 5.00 approx) – that’s when you can find an available taxi.
At Gecko tours, we provide a fast, reliable and inexpensive airport service – we greet you at reception and take you to your Split accommodation without all the hassle – for more information see: https://www.gecko-tours.co/transfers-from-split-airport-to-split/
