The SPLIT CYCLING TOUR by SPLIT CYCLING TOUR by Gecko tours

Gecko Tours offers a fantastic Split Cycling tour https://www.gecko-tours.co/tours/split-cycling-tour-2/

It’s an interesting and active way to convey the history and facts of Split whilst enjoying amazing views throughout whilst cycling.

Our guests can choose between the 8:00 am and 5:00 pm tour, both of which start from our office in the centre of Split, where guests need to choose the size of the bike that suits them best (Trek and Fuji mountain bikes) and of course to select a helmet.

The Gecko tours Split Cycling tour includes many anecdotes and stories from our local guide and many interesting facts about Split as we see Diocletian’s Palace from the outside and cycle around Marjan Hill, stopping at various points. The Marjan Hill is the green peninsula or recreational centre of Split that we like to call it the ‘’Lungs of Split’’, because it only takes 10-15 minutes to escape the old part of Split and enjoy life in this high-oxygen area.  😊 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marjan,_Split

Also, like all of the tours offered by Gecko tours, we only operate our Split cycling tour in a small group so we don’t use headphones as we believe a closer connection with the guide leads to a richer experience of Split.

Every few minutes we stop in front of the important sights of Split so our guests can understand every part of the varied story of Split. There’s a great photo opportunity on Sustipan https://visitsplit.com/en/507/sustipan for example, where you can enjoy beautiful views from each side! But, more generally, cycling around the coast of Marjan Hill provides so many magical views and vistas!

On Marjan Hill we stop at Bene beach  https://www.adriagate.com/Croatia-en/Bene-beach-Croatia where we spend cc 30 minutes. There, you can take a swim and enjoy some great coffee – on us – inside the forest! 😊 This is also a nice opportunity to ask our guide everything that you’d like to know about cultural life in Split and much more.

Coffee time

Most parts we cycle are flat, there are just a few parts that are little bit harder to cycle, but don’t worry, this tour is also adjusted for families (children seats are available on request) and non-regular cyclists. In Split, the food is really delicious so to combat the consequences of this we take our sports seriously and are always active to stay fit! 😊

If you would like to explore Split & Marjan Hill in a fun and healthy way, and learn a lot about the local history and interesting facts, but also relax with a swim stop and coffee break, this is the tour for you!/

It is important to note that this tour doesn’t enter inside Diocletian’s Palace because the streets are quite narrow for bikes.

However, our Split Walking tour https://www.gecko-tours.co/tours/split-walking-tour/) fully explores the palace area and much more so why not enjoy this small group too?  We offer this tour 5x a day during season so there will be a tour to suit your timetable.
