DALMATIAN GASTRO TOUR WITH PEKA AND ZINFANDEL WINE TASTING
ABOUT THIS TOUR
We meet at our office at 9.00am and enjoy a short historical walk through the Palace area, the fish market and the green vegetable market – we taste SOPARNIK (a Swiss chard filled pastry) and typical dalmatian sweet treats.
We then head to KLIS FORTRESS to enjoy the panoramic views across the valley and Split city beneath.
Having worked up an appetite and rekindled our thirst we head to Kaštel Kambelovac and visit Perišin winery – a family winery. Try out their award-winning whites, rose and the iconic red Zinfandel all accompanied by some fantastic locally prepared food. Let the charming Ivan regale you with his family tales of the past and present and how he makes his food and wine today.
We then proceed to the picturesque city of Trogir, a UNESCO protected gem featuring stunning examples of Renaissance and Gothic architecture to enjoy some well-deserved free time.
Our trip then takes us to a traditional Dalmatian village in Trogir`s countryside, where our host Neno will treat us to the crown jewel of the Dalmatian cuisine, the peka meal made from veal or lamb with potatoes and vegetables. All of this accompanied, with even more wine and homemade liqueurs. On our way back to Split, enjoy a spectacular panoramic road down the Kozjak mountain.
We return to Split at roughly 7 PM. Remember to pack a big appetite, since you will be enjoying 3 fantastic meals and plenty of homemade wine and liqueurs on this tour.
